The Prospect Tower, Biddulph

The Prospect Tower, Biddulph, sits in an isolated position in Greenway Bank Country Park. Currently unoccupied except by rare bat species, the building has been subjected to repeated vandalism. An Options Appraisal funded by Historic England has recently explored its potential for re-use, and the cost of repair and renovation.

Its owners, Staffordshire County Council, have approached Leek and Moorlands Historic Buildings Trust as a potential partner in the next stage, the search for funding. It was agreed that Leek and Moorlands Historic Buildings Trust would prepare a preliminary approach to the Heritage Lottery Fund, the County Archaeologist would contact the Architectural Heritage Fund, while Staffordshire County Council would complete its management plan for the surrounding parks, an essential preliminary to the search for funding.
